The 12-day Thanksgiving travel period will be the busiest since 2007, industry trade organization Airlines for America (A4A) estimates.

A 5.6% drop in airfares plays a role in this year’s jump in air travel, A4A said.

Some 25.3 million passengers will travel on U.S.-based airlines between Nov. 20 and Dec. 1, according to A4A, up 3% from 2014.

Thanksgiving travel peaked in 2006 and 2007, with U.S. carriers hauling 26.2 million passengers each of those years. It plunged to 22.5 million in 2008, at the start of the Great Recession, but has been edging up since.
