TripAdvisor has redesigned the homepage of
its website to make booking in-destination activities easier.
The homepage now features a “Things to Do”
widget, which enables users to enter their destination and find experiences to
book.
According to TripAdvisor, attraction and
tour bookings have risen 150% year over year. During the same period,
attractions listings have grown 63% (including bookable and free experiences).
“The tours and attractions industry has been making amazing progress
in recent years, moving toward adopting the digital and mobile ways consumers
book travel,” Jeff Chow, vice president of product and attractions at
TripAdvisor, said in a statement.
“Our goal is to accelerate this transition by delivering a world full
of local travel experiences to our users, instantly bookable on a smartphone,
tablet or desktop using TripAdvisor.”
In addition to the homepage redesign,
TripAdvisor has made several other improvements to its website, including
attractions product pages, an overview of bookable tours and attractions
in-destination; attraction videos; and enhanced location-based searches to find
things to do.
