Between March 25 and 29, 2017, WTCF and its city member, Penang in Malaysia, will jointly hold the WTCF Asia Pacific Tourism Conference. It will be the first large regional conference that WTCF will hold in one of its member cities. The aim of the conference is to discuss the sustainable development of tourism cities in the Asia-Pacific region.

WTCF city and institutional members in the Asia-Pacific region, representatives of the tourism industry, media and other parties will be invited to attend the conference. The theme of the conference is “One Belt One Road: Construction of Tourism City Corridor and City Hub”. Reputable experts and elites of the tourism industry will discuss and exchange ideas on popular and meaningful topics: City and Tourism Economy, Driving Force of Cultural Tourism to the Tourism Industry, Development of MICE Tourism, Development of Cruise Tourism and so on.

Mrs. Rosa del Carmen Ng Báez born in Santiago, Dominican Republic. She Studied geology at the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina, graduated from the graduate School of Strategic Studies of the Ministry of Defense of the Dominican Republic where she served as an Academic Advisor. She studied Economics and Planning, History, Geopolitics, Public Administration and Management, Project Planning and International Policy Development at the Centre of Hemispheric Defense Studies, CHDS, of the National Defense University in Washington USA, and has also studied at the Complutense University of Madrid in Spain.

She has served in high positions in the public administration of the Dominican Republic as Deputy Director General of Mining and as Technical Vice Minister of the Presidency, responsible for International Cooperation of the country; as well as an Ambassador to United Nations conferences and the Organization of American States, OAS.

She worked as the National and International Consultant in Development Projects for International organizations and agencies such as the Inter-American Development Bank, IDB, the United Nations Development Program, UNDP, German Technical Cooperation Agency, GTZ and the European Union.

As an entrepreneur she is the president of Rosa Ng & Associates SA and Asian Caribbean Tours, SRL, and has also written several books and articles in newspapers in her country.

She is also a founding member of the Dominican Society of Geology, and also a member of the Overseas Chinese Exchange Association of Guangdong province, she was the President of the Alumni Association of Schools of Security and Defense, ADEESD, and the President of the FlorparaTodos Foundation which was in charge of the promotion, planning and construction of the Chinatown of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. She currently serves as the Representative of the Commercial Development Office of the Dominican Republic in Beijing, People's Republic of China since March 2011.
